Scholarship Regulation through the OEP within the Faculty of Computer Science

Orange Educational Program Scholarships – UAIC


Orange Romania S.A., through the Orange Educational Program, in partnership with the Faculty of Computer Science at “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași, awards annual scholarships to students of the faculty.

Eligible candidates include Romanian students with permanent residence in Romania, as well as students from EU member states, EEA countries, or the Swiss Confederation, enrolled at the Faculty of Computer Science, who meet the requirements set by this regulation.

Scholarships are granted to final-year full-time undergraduate or master’s students working on thesis topics relevant to Orange Romania S.A.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria


To apply, students must meet the following:

  • Undergraduate and master’s students: a minimum of 225 points from academic activity in the previous semester.
  • Undergraduate only: minimum grade 7 in Computer Architecture and Operating Systems, Computer Networks, and Web Technologies.
The final selection score consists of: 40% academic performance score (semester average), and 60% interview with Orange representatives (including application file review). A minimum grade of 7 is required in the interview. In the case of a tie, ranking is based on: interview score, previous semester academic score, and cumulative annual academic score.
Scholarship decisions will not be based on: age, gender, religion, race, political views, past schools, international study experience, or access to other scholarships.

Selection Procedure


At the start of each academic year, Orange Romania S.A. will inform the Faculty of Computer Science of the number and value of scholarships and the proposed list of thesis topics.

The Faculty will inform students and announce the application period. Orange Romania S.A. appoints the evaluation and appeal committees.

After the deadline, the evaluation committee reviews applications, verifies eligibility, ranks candidates, and awards scholarships based on availability and interview results.

Appeals


Applicants may submit appeals within 24 hours of results being posted. The appeals committee will respond within 48 hours after the appeal deadline. Interview scores are final and cannot be contested.

Application File Requirements


  • Copy of ID
  • Statement of intended thesis topic (from Orange list or a related field)

  • Motivation letter
  • Academic transcript (issued and signed by the faculty office)
  • Optional: documents showing involvement in relevant projects (Computer Networks, Computer Architecture and Operating Systems, Operating Systems, Web Technologies, Cloud Computing)

Scholarship Agreement


Selected students will sign a scholarship agreement and data publication consent form with Orange Romania S.A. If a recipient fails to defend their thesis at the end of the academic year, the full scholarship amount must be returned.

This regulation applies throughout the validity of the partnership agreement between Orange Romania S.A. and “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași.
