Orange | AI Autumn School 2026 - ETTI

Another month - another school: on September 21-25 Orange supported and participated in ETTI AI Autumn school 2026!

AI Autumn School 2026
Where

ETTI AI Autumn School 2026, organized by the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology under the coordination of Alexandru Guzu and supported by Orange Romania and NXP Semiconductors Romania, took place across several locations, one of them being Orange Romania’s headquarters in the Tandem building. The school offered participants five intensive days dedicated to artificial intelligence.

The programme combined theoretical knowledge with practical exercises and industry perspectives, giving students the opportunity to explore artificial intelligence in different contexts and environments.

Who

This year, AI School welcomed 25 students, academic lecturers from the ETTI and industry specialists passionate about AI and its practical applications.

On 21 September, the first day of the Autumn School started at Tandem, where Orange colleagues contributed with series of lectures. A special point of pride for us was that the presenters were graduates of the Orange Education Program.

What

The school started with Introduction to Machine Learning presented by Gabriel Pirlogeanu, a PhD student at ETTI, and lasted for the whole week, covering topics from data representation, classification, regression and clustering to deep learning, hands-on applications and current trends in AI.

Our colleagues, OEP graduates, presented:

  • Preventive Pole Maintenance by Andreea Valentina Nitu
  • Predictive KPI Monitoring with Machine Learning by Catalina Liliana Serban
  • Preventive Maintenance on Poles – AI Image Analysis by Nora Fawzy
  • Academic Research Agent in On-Premises Corporate Infrastructure - by Alexandra Radoi

Why

AI became a hot topic some time ago, but as it becomes more deeply integrated into our lives, its relevance continues to grow. Around the world, researchers and companies are exploring new possibilities and applications, while also, though to a lesser extent, trying to understand the consequences of such rapid expansion.

Therefore, it is important to educate ourselves on this topic, understand how AI works and learn how to use it responsibly. Opportunities such as the AI Autumn School allow students to explore these technologies beyond theory, experiment with practical applications and discuss directly with specialists how AI can be used in real projects and professional environments.
